This chert Fasad point of the Faya tradition (Type 2) is from Jebel Al-Buhais, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The artefact likely dates to ca. 9000-11,000 BP although the burial ground at Jebel Al-Buhais dates after ca. 7000 BP. Scale approximate.
The point is made from a blade with minimal modification of the lateral edges. The stem was made by very steep unifacial retouching using an anvil-supported backing technique.
The arrowhead is curated by the Sharjah Archaeology Authority, catalogue number EXS21, 991.
